Before accepting a task
Evaluate the location
- Check the address on a map before accepting. Is it a known area? Is it accessible?
- Consider the time of day. Avoid accepting tasks in unfamiliar areas at night unless you are comfortable and the area is well-lit.
- Check the deadline. Do not rush to dangerous areas to meet a tight deadline. It is better to skip a task than to put yourself at risk.
Trust your instincts
If something about a task feels wrong — vague instructions, suspicious location, unusual requests — skip it. There will always be more tasks. While completing a task
General safety
- Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back.
- Keep your phone charged. You need it for photos, navigation, and emergencies.
- Stay aware of your surroundings. Do not get so focused on taking photos that you lose situational awareness.
- Park in visible, well-lit areas when driving to task locations.
At the location
- Do not enter private property unless the task explicitly requires it and you have permission.
- Stay on public sidewalks and streets for exterior verification and photo tasks.
- If someone confronts you, calmly explain you are documenting the area for a verification service. You are not required to share additional details.
- Leave immediately if you feel unsafe for any reason.
For delivery tasks
- Verify the recipient before handing over items.
- Do not enter unfamiliar buildings alone. If the delivery point is inside a building, ask the recipient to meet you at the entrance.
- Document the handoff with a photo when appropriate.
What to avoid
- Never share personal information (home address, financial details) with anyone at a task location.
- Never complete tasks that ask you to do anything illegal, unethical, or that makes you uncomfortable.
- Never accept tasks that require you to impersonate someone, access restricted systems without authorization, or violate anyone’s privacy.
Reporting issues
If you encounter a problem during a task:- Stop the task immediately if your safety is at risk.

- A personal emergency contact: Someone who knows where you are
Insurance and liability
HumCLI operators are independent contractors. The platform does not provide insurance coverage for injuries or property damage that may occur while completing tasks. If you complete tasks regularly, consider:- Personal liability insurance
